What do the feasts of Israel celebrate, and what does the Bible teach about Jesus? Please note the important
word NOW.

Passover: Israel was to sacrifice a lamb for sin and eat it before being delivered from Egypt. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus being our Passover Lamb). Notice how Israel focuses on an animals and Egypt, not on what God did through Jesus?

Exo 12:21 KJV Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

Exo 3:8 KJV And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…

Jesus fulfilled Passover by being our Passover Lamb:

Joh 1:36 KJV And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

1Co 5:7 KJV …For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Jesus was our Passover Lamb sacrificed during Passover:

Joh 19:14-18 KJV And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! [15] But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. [16] Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. [17] And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: [18] Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

God delivered us not out of the land of Egypt, but into the Kingdom of His dear Son. Jesus delivered us from the wrath to come, and we are delivered from the law, so we may serve in newness of life!

Col 1:13 KJV Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

1Th 1:10 KJV And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Rom 7:6 KJV But NOW we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Unleavened bread: Israel was to eat the unleavened bread in a hurry and remember leaving Egypt. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus being our Bread of Life). Notice how Israel was to remember Egypt, not what God did through Jesus Christ, and Him being our Bread of Life?

Deu 16:3-4 KJV Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life. [4] And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.

NOW we purge out the old leaven, and we are to be unleavened ourselves. It is NOW an issue of the heart (malice and wickedness, sincerity and truth, not an issue of food).

1Co 5: 7-8 KJV [7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: [8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

In the New Testament, we are never told to not eat any leavened bread. Leaven is always described as an attitude of the heart, (NOT bread). Jesus mentioned it mostly regarding the Pharisees and Sadducees. He told His disciples not to beware of the leaven of bread, but in essence wrong doctrine.

Mat 16:11-12 KJV How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? [12] Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Israel also ate Manna (Bread) from God:

[Exo 16:15 KJV] And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

NOW Jesus is the Bread of God and is also our bread of Life:

[Joh 6:33 KJV] For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

[Joh 6:35 KJV] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

[Joh 6:48 KJV] I am that bread of life.

[Joh 6:51 KJV] I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. [Joh 6:35 KJV] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

NOW we are to eat His body and blood and do it in remembrance of Him as He tells us to do during His Last Supper (communion). We are to remember Jesus NOW, not Israel leaving Egypt!

[Luk 22:19 KJV] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. [Luk 22:20 KJV] Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

1Co 11:23-28 KJV For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: [24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. [25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

[1Co 10:16 KJV] The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Firstfruits: Israel was to bring the firstfruits of their labor. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus being our First fruit). Notice how it is their labor, not what God did through Jesus and His resurrection?

Exo 23:16 KJV And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

Lev 23:10 KJV Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

NOW Jesus is the firstfruit by rising from the dead:

[1Co 15:20 KJV] But NOW is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

NOW we have the first fruits of God’s Spirit:

[Rom 8:23 KJV] And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

NOW we are the firstfruits of His creatures:

[Jas 1:18 KJV] Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
• Pentecost: Israel was to count 50 days after Passover and then give God offerings and thankfulness for their labor and harvest. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus and God giving us His Spirit on Pentecost. We are NOW His harvest). Notice how it is their labor, not what God did through Jesus?)

Lev 23:15-16 KJV And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: [16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

[Exo 23:16 KJV] And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

Pentecost: NOW Jesus and Pentecost is the celebration of God baptizing us with His Spirit after 50 days (Again, we are His harvest). God does this. It is NOT our labor!

[Mar 1:8 KJV] I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

[Joh 1:33 KJV] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Joh 7:38-39 KJV He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Act 1:5 KJV For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Act 2:1-4 KJV And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Trumpets [Yom Teruah]: Israel was to blow the trumpet as a memorial and over its burnt offering and sacrifices: (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus). Notice how it focused on their offerings and sacrifices, not what God did through Jesus coming into the world and offering Himself as a sacrifice?

[Lev 23:24 KJV] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

[Num 10:10 KJV] Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

Trumpets can mean different things like clamor, that is, acclamation of joy, jubile, loud noise, rejoicing

Trumpets
H8643
תּרוּעה
terû‛âh
ter-oo-aw’
From H7321; clamor, that is, acclamation of joy or a battle cry; especially clangor of trumpets, as an alarum: – alarm, blow (-ing) (of, the) (trumpets), joy, jubile, loud noise, rejoicing, shout (-ing), (high, joyful) sound (-ing).

Below are many incidents that show the trumpeting of Jesus when He came to the earth the first time. The angels heralded (trumpeted) Jesus (with acclamation of joy) at His birth. They praised God over Jesus (our sacrifice) and the goodwill God had towards man. There was great rejoicing and glory to God!

Luk 2:9-14 KJV And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. [10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. [12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. [13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, [14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
John the Baptist also was a form of a trumpet (acclamation of joy) for Jesus, our sacrifice, the Lamb of God. He was the voice that trumpeted the good news of Jesus, so people could rejoice. He pointed people to Jesus who was to be the sacrifice for the world.

[Joh 1:23 KJV] He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

[Joh 1:29 KJV] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

It was prophesied that Jesus would come, we were told fear not, daughter of Sion, your King comes, as Jesus came on the donkey! The people heralded (trumpeted) Jesus (with acclamation of joy) as He came and they went to meet Him with palm branches.

Joh 12:12-16 KJV On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, [13] Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. [14] And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, [15] Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt. [16] These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

This is important because we see Israel, in the Old Covenant, was told to come to Mount Sinai at the sound of the trumpet to meet God on the third day.

Exo 19:11 KJV And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

Exo 19:13-17 KJV There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. [14] And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. [15] And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives. [16] And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. [17] And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

However, in the New Covenant Jesus told his disciples that He would rise on the third day.

Luk 9:22 KJV Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

Then on the third day the LORD Jesus came to people. The world would meet their God raised on the Third day! Jesus came to meet His people and opened up their understanding into the Scriptures and Himself.

Luk 24:45-46 KJV Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, [46] And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

NOW instead of Mount Sinai where Israel met God at the sound of a trumpet, We come to Mt Zion to meet Jesus:

Heb 12:18-22 KJV For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, [19] And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: [20] (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: [21] And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) [22] But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

The Apostle John was the first to hear a trumpet after Jesus’ resurrection, proclaiming Who He is and what must be:

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last…

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Day of Atonement [Yom Kippur]: Aaron and his sons were to offer a bullock for a sin offering for atonement for Israel. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus alone as our atonement, once for all). Notice how it focuses on continual yearly sacrifices and not what God did through Jesus?

Exo 29:35-36 KJV And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them. [36] And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

Lev 16:30 KJV For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

[2Ch 29:24 KJV] And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

NOW we have already received atonement the Bible says. It is not a future date:

Rom 5:11 KJV And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have NOW received the atonement.

Heb 10:7-10 KJV Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. [8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; [9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. [10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Heb 10:17-23 KJV And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [18] NOW where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. [19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, [20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; [21] And having an high priest over the house of God; [22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Aaron was to lay his hands on the sacrifice and confess and put them on the goats head.

Lev 16:21-22 KJV [21] And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: [22] And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

God laid the iniquity on Jesus – He is the atonement Who already came. It is not a future date. God is satisfied it says.

Isa 53:6 KJV All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all… Isa 53:11 KJV He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Aaron was the high priest

Exo 28:1 KJV And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.

NOW Jesus is our High Priest

Heb 9:11-12 KJV But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; [12] Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Tabernacles [Sukkot]: Israel was to remember that they were bondmen in Egypt and they were to dwell in booths. (However it was a shadow of Jesus and pointed to Jesus as the Tabernacle. NOW He sets us FREE and He is our Tabernacle, not a booth, cottage, covert, pavilion, tabernacle, tent made with hands). Notice how Israel was to remember when they were bondmen in Egypt? This is not remembering what God did through Jesus Christ and that we live in Him and He in us all the time and He set us free.)

Deu 16:12-13 KJV And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes. [13] Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:

Neh 8:14 KJV And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:

Booth
H5521
סכּה
sûkkâh
sook-kaw’
Feminine of H5520; a hut or lair: – booth, cottage, covert, pavilion, tabernacle, tent.

Jesus fulfilled the Feast of Tabernacles by Tabernacling with us: It was first prophesied that He would:

Mat 1:23 KJV Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Jesus went to the Jews feast of tabernacles and called people to HIM, not a booth. He said if they thirst to come to Him and drink.

Joh 7:2 KJV Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand and

Joh 7:37 KJV In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

He is the true and more perfect Tabernacle that God pitched, and He made the way into the holiest of all.

Heb 8:2 KJV A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

Heb 9:8 KJV The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

Heb 9:11 KJV But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

He sets us free, we are not bondmen like Israel was. We are to remember He set us free to follow Him.

Joh 8:36 KJV If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Now Christ is IN us the Hope of glory:

Col 1:27 KJV To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

We are IN Christ:

Rom 8:1 KJV There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 12:5 KJV So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1Co 15:22 KJV For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Act 17:28 KJV For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
We are NOW new creations, by being in Christ. He Tabernacles with us and us with Him. He makes all things NEW!

2Co 5:17 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

All the Feasts had sacrifices offered – See Lev 23. Sometimes double sacrifices – Lev 16:8 (one for the Lord and the other the scapegoat).

The various sacrifices were offered at the Tabernacle and then the Temple:

[Lev 1:3 KJV] If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.

1Ch 16:1 So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

2Ch 7:4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 2Ch 7:5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

Jesus said He didn’t want sacrifices anymore, He wanted repentance:

Mat 9:13 KJV But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Then He Jesus gave Himself as our final sacrifice:

Heb 7:27 KJV Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Heb 9:26 KJV For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but NOW once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Heb 10:12 KJV But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Jesus said He is greater than the Temple:

[Mat 12:6 KJV] But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

Jesus preached the gospel in the Temple:

[Luk 20:1 KJV] And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

As He left the Temple he told His disciples not one stone would be left upon another.

[Mat 24:1 KJV] And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. [Mat 24:2 KJV] And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

The veil in the Temple was rent when Jesus died:

[Mar 15:38 KJV] And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

In AD 70 the Temple was destroyed as Jesus said above. The Temple was destroyed. That was where Israel offered the sacrifices and kept the Feasts. NOW we are in Christ. He is the Temple and we are His temples. We don’t do sacrifices anymore or celebrate the Feasts of Israel. We celebrate Jesus and what He did for us. We remember Him, not Egypt.

[1Co 3:16 KJV] know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

[1Co 6:19 KJV] What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
The Feasts were celebrated first in the Tabernacle and then in the Temple. Three times a year men from Israel were to go to Jerusalem for the Feasts.

Deu 16:16 KJV Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

No one who keeps the Feasts now a days goes to Jerusalem anymore. Why? Because there is no Tabernacle or Temple to go to. The Tabernacle is “no more” and since 70 AD there has been no Temple.

There are no more sacrifices to be made and people don’t go to the Temple anymore, since Jesus said it would be destroyed and He would be our Temple. Likewise since Jesus fulfilled the Feasts and there is no Temple to go to anymore where the Feast were done with the sacrifices, we celebrate Jesus now and remember what He has done for us. We do not tell remember or tell people what God did for Israel. We are to be ministers of the New Covenant and Ambassadors for Christ. We are to speak about the Gospel.

2Co 3:6 KJV Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Eph 6:19-20 KJV And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, [20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

We are also to walk in love NOW, as Jesus loved us and gave Himself as a sacrifice for us:

Eph 5:2 KJV And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

We are to present our bodies as living sacrifices NOW, so we can have our minds renewed and prove what is the will of God.

Rom 12:1-2 KJV I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We are to offer sacrifices of praise to God NOW:

Heb 13:15 KJV By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

We are to celebrate Jesus and love one another. The old is gone the new is come!

2Co 5:17 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And we serve in Newness of life. Everything is NEW!!! Jesus fulfilled the Feasts as we saw. They all pointed to Him and were fulfilled while He was on the earth as the Bible shows. We are to take communion now in remembrance of Him (not remember Egypt and Israel). We are to walk in newness of life and can by doing the following:

Rom 6:4 KJV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

He shows us in the New Covenant how to draw near to Him and worship Him NOW. It is completely different from how the Jews did, by going to Jerusalem to the Temple and to the Feasts. We don’t do that anymore, but we worship Him daily in spirit and in Truth! It must be the truth.

Jesus told the lady in Samaria that people wouldn’t need to go to Jerusalem to worship God anymore. He was showing how things were changing under Him. He is the New and living way! She said… “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.” He said “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” God wants us to worship Him in spirit, but also in TRUTH. We must find the TRUTH so we can worship God correctly. See complete text below:

Joh 4:10-24 KJV Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. [11] The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? [12] Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? [13] Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: [14] But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. [15] The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. [16] Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: [18] For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. [19] The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. [20] Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. [21] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We are to Now serve one another in love, not remember and do what Israel did. The old is gone the new is come!

Gal 5:13 KJV For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

We are to walk in the Light as He is the light. It was even told to us in Isaiah that we are to walk in the light of the Lord.

Isa 2:5 KJV O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Jesus is the Light. We are to walk in Him.

Joh 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joh 11:9 KJV Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Joh 12:35 KJV Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Eph 5:8 KJV For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

1Jn 1:7 KJV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Jesus is the Light. We need to come to Him and walk in the light of the New Covenant God gave us through Him, so we wont walk in darkness and stumble! The Lamb is the Light!

Rev 21:23-24 KJV And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

It is all about Him NOW! If we lift Him up (not Israel or what happened in Egypt) He will draw all men to HIM. Notice in the Feasts above how Israel was to remember Egypt, not what God did through Jesus Christ. Jesus said “It is finished”. I pray it is clear that celebrating the Feasts remembers Israel and Egypt, not Jesus Christ and what He did as revealed in the New Covenant verses above.

See how Jesus said we need to lift Him up (Not Moses, Israel or what happened in Egypt)?

Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Joh 8:28 KJV Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

Joh 12:32 KJV And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Then He can give us NEWNESS of LIFE! Life is in the Son! There is Hope for a good new life!

Joh 14:6 KJV Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

We can only get Light and Life as we come to Jesus (not Moses, Israel or by remembering what happened in Egypt). Once people come to Jesus, they want to celebrate Him and remember Him 🙂
